I really really love the mass spectrum of colours you have used here and I feel you have really captured something beautiful with this piece.
As said I love the colours but I also love all the elements and how it all works so well together from the stormy sky through to the stormy sea and waves lashing over the rocks. I love how the sky colours are reflected in the sea.
It’s a very interesting concept and really catches the eye as somehow the canvas seems to bow in the middle where the middle is as far out as the eye can see, while the top and the bottom seem to be much much closer! Well done and very unusual and creative.
I am however a little concerned how the center (right far out to sea and the clouds in the sky) and the rocks right up close at the front are both very much in focus! I feel it would have worked even better if it was one or the other perhaps the rocks should have been less focused? Having said that it is pleasing but it feels a little photoshoped!
I also feel you should have thought a little more about the rule of thirds here (ex photography student) and I feel that the rocks should have been the bottom third and the sea the middle and sky the top just to give it all more balance.
But even with all my thoughts and tips I do really really like it as it is!! Well done you!!
I also feel that if this was a photomanipulation that some small fish by the rocks at the bottom would have really MADE this picture. Well done all the same. Thank you for not just producing yet another sun set!
half a second exposure. ISO 200. the quicker, yet still slow enough, shutter allowed me to capture the waves crashing in. Did you see my other shot called The Headlands? that is a 10 second shutter and creates the "smokey" water look.
