I know exactly what you mean! I'm in the UP of Michigan and about 1/2 the trees have turned-the other half is being stubborn.

If you're coming for the colors you have roughly a week till all the leaves are off the trees.

Thanks for the heads up dude!

I've always thought about trying to take a picture in the same spot in every season and trying to merge the photos together...or just show the difference...but just have never tried it haha. UP is like a completely different world from down here...I love it! lol

I had thought about doing a four seasons sunset panoramic similar to the one I did recently, but that break-wall is closed in winter.
But it is absolutely one of the most beautiful places I've ever lived. Certainly a [positive] change from Detroit haha.

I get my 300mm any day now, to capture some freighters/sailboats.

It's gorgeous up here, no doubt about it. I love going to the same spots at different times of the day/year and it's completely different each time. I actually have a difficult time with composition due to the fact that so many aspects of the area are awe-inspiring. What do I leave in the photograph/what to I leave out?
I'm also from Detroit myself, and just up in the area for school. Absolutely worth the drive.
